Frequently Asked Questions | Certified Translations

Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about our certified translation services

Question:

Are your certified translations accepted by the UK Home Office?

Answer:

Yes. The Language Corner has been issuing certified translations since 2008 and, to our knowledge, all have been accepted by the UK Home Office and all other UK authorities and organisations to date.

Question:

Which other organisations accept The Language Corner’s certified translations?

Answer:

In addition to the UK Home Office, our certified translations are accepted by all official UK organisations, including HM Passport Office, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the General Medical Council (GMC), the General Dental Council (GDC), UK register offices, the UK divorce courts, UK universities and all other organisations and authorities. Our certified translations are also accepted by the U.S., Australian and New Zealand authorities.

Question:

What is the expected turnaround time?

Answer:

We aim to return completed translations for checking and approval within 1-2 working days. For in-house translations in French, German or Spanish to English, we may be able to return within a few hours on the same working day.

Question:

What is the preferred method of payment?

Answer:

We will send an invoice detailing how to pay. The options are either a bank transfer from a UK bank account, or payment via a link to the payment page of our website using a card or paying through PayPal.

Question:

How much will my certified translation cost?

Answer:

You can find general information about our pricing here, but we will need to confirm the cost based on sight of a clear copy of your document: https://www.certified-translation.info/prices

Question:

Do you accept scanned copies or do you require the original document?

Answer:

A clear copy can be used to create the translation, which is certified on approval. A good computer scan is best, but if this is not possible, a clear, light photo on a white or very light background taken from above and without shadows should work. This helps to reduce ink wastage for us.
